Today, we are pleased to announce that Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) released to manufacturing (RTM). Windows XP SP3 bits are now working their way through our production lines to be available to OEM customers and enterprises.
We are also in the final stages of preparation for placing on the web (ie you!) On April 29, through Windows Update and the Microsoft Download Center. Online documentation for Windows XP SP3, such as Microsoft Knowledge Base articles and TechNet TechCenter Microsoft Windows XP, will be updated. For customers who use Windows XP at home, Windows XP SP3 Automatic Update distribution for home users will begin in early summer.
Thanks to everyone here who has installed the public beta - not that you gave us detailed feedback but also helped each other in times of troubleshooting. Through the beta program, we found several important issues and were able to confirm some important fixes. We could not have done without you.
We'll still be monitoring this forum in the coming weeks where you have more comments on the release of Windows XP SP3.
